While Yardi is one of the best options for property level accounting, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, etc. still take the cake for corporate accounting. Many firms use NetSuite combined with Yardi for accounting. Those firms often import summarized Yardi data into NetSuite. They then lose the ability to compare the transaction-level details by property. That’s why we help our customers combine Yardi with NetSuite data. Read on for more details on how to combine Yardi with NetSuite.
Getting Data from NetSuite
NetSuite is a legacy Oracle product, and getting data into your data warehouse can be a little tricky. Here are the high-level steps to get started with Azure Data Factory:
- Set up a virtual machine where you can install the correct ODBC drivers. Then, set up and install a SQL Server to connect to a linked services connection provided by NetSuite.
- Set up NetSuite ODBC drivers for Windows on the VM so that it can communicate with the NetSuite servers. You will need support from your admin and the NetSuite Portal to obtain the servers and credentials needed. While at it, request access to the ODBC drivers provided by NetSuite.
- Create a linked service from your SQL Server to the NetSuite database.
- Create an Integration Runtime on your VM so that Azure Data Factory can connect to it.
- Set up Integration Runtime on your Azure Data Factory using the keys created in step 4. Classify your VM as an On-Premise server.
- Create an Azure Data Factory job to extract data from NetSuite to your internal data warehouse database.
