What can owners evaluate when direct API access is unavailable?
Start with the access and delivery methods the property manager and source provider permit. An authorized export, scheduled report or agreed file package may support a reporting need. Confirm the available fields, timing, licensing and responsibilities before choosing the route.

Match the delivery method to the reporting requirement.
A file-based approach and an API can have different coverage, refresh and operational responsibilities. Neither is a universal substitute for the other. Keep the source constraints visible and assess whether the available information is sufficient for the owner's intended use.
What to confirm before choosing the scope

A source question to work through
A manager can provide a month-end trial balance but not transaction detail. That package may support a defined summary review while leaving a transaction-level question unanswered.
Record the source, affected output, person responsible and next review date. Keep an unanswered item open until the appropriate reviewer accepts its treatment.
